• Languages requirements at EIVP
Students, in urban engineering formation, must take two languages during their 1 and 2nd years. English is compulsory.
The other courses are Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German and Mandarin. Beginners are accepted in Spanish, Portuguese, Madarin and Italian. The student announces his choice at the time of administrative registration. Level tests are organized at the beginning of the school year for all the languages offered at EIVP. Students may, at their own expense, validate another language in another institution if, at the beginning of the school year, he can show a proof of registration and the final grade obtained.
For languages not offered at EIVP, students can enroll for free in language courses offered by CAPLA, the Centre d'Action pédagogique en langues de l'Université Gustave Eiffel, located on the Campus of the Université Gustave Eiffel in Marne la Vallée (accessible by RER A, 30 minutes from Châtelet).

• TOEIC
Language instruction is mandatory to get the diploma. A session of the TOEIC® Listening and Reading Test is offered to all engineering students (2sessions by year). The minimum score to obtain is 785. The certificate of achievement is valid for 2 years. The date of issue must be during your studies at EIVP. Its validity does not have to be active when you obtain your diploma.
Other certifications accepted by the school are : Cambridge LINGUASKILL (160/200), Cambridge FCE or CAE (160/230), TOEFL ibt (72/120), BRIGHT LANGUAGE (2.5/5.0), Duolingo (90/160) or IELTS (6/9) (Academic or General)
